Martha and Mary
With finals coming up and my Sabbath being smack in the middle of all the chaos and stress, God really brings me back to Martha and Mary.
I know that my studies glorify Him and that I should try my best, but I also know that I shouldn’t be so caught up in studying that I forget to sit at His feet.
Just because it’s finals week doesn’t mean God is not important. God is the only One that I will desire for the rest of my days. I want God more than I want that good grade.
Plus, even if I get a C in the class, it doesn’t mean God can’t use me. He is Almighty and His Will will always be fulfilled. My grades won’t get in the way of that.
-Luke 10:38-42
Rousseau didn’t get it
Reading The Social Contract by Jean-Jacques Rousseau for HUM4 and something he said really caught my eye:
“To speak of a man giving himself in return for nothing is to speak of what is absurd, unthinkable; such an action would be illegitimate, void, if only because no one who did it could be in his right mind.”
That’s what Jesus Christ did for us. He gave His life up for us. US. Puny humans who spat and laughed at his face. He did not expect anything from us. He knew that we weren’t able to give Him anything in return, yet HE STILL CHOSE to die for us. Who wouldn’t want to live a life dedicated to Jesus? Who can NOT be in awe of this amazing love?
Rousseau says, “no one who did it could be in his right mind.” I truly think no one on this Earth is capable of such selfless love, but thank the Lord that Jesus Christ is.
Rousseau didn’t get it, but let’s hope we do.
“Dance with God, and He’ll let the perfect man cut in.”

Paper Flowers | Wedding Chicks
My hallway is boring. So I bought some vinyl wall stickers in flower and bird shapes and stuck them to the ceiling. But now they’re all falling down! How amazing would a bunch of these flowers look stuck to the ceiling? It may take a while to make a few but combining these with some giant flowers would be so pretty… like a flower garden on the ceiling! I’ll just have to try and work out how to stop them falling down too.
DIY Button Bracelet. This also has a button closure. If you can braid, you can do this. Super easy, cheap to make and you can easily customize it. Tutorial from I Spy DIY here.
